Celestial Communication with Trees

4/5/2011

Sat Nam,

When teaching Celestial Communication, Yogi Bhajan said that it is great to practice it with others, a leader and follower(s), to achieve the mirror effect. This could also be done by watching a video or by practicing Celestial Communication in a mirror and seeing your own reflection. But, Yogi Bhajan said, when you don't have any of these things, sit or stand in front of a tree and do Celestial Communication.

In the photos below (taken by my lovely husband, Sat Sang), I am Celestialing with a tree at the Huntington Gardens. Try it sometime - it is great fun!

Many blessings, Adarsh Kaur

Celestial Communication video with Hari Kaur

Sat Nam, my celestial friends. Here is a video I'd like to share with you. My friend Hari Kaur created this Celestial Communication to a beautiful song, "Ajai Alai - Let there be peace" by Mata Mandir Singh. I have practiced this Celestial Communication many times with my friend Hari Kaur, and we have even led this one together at the Summer Solstice in New Mexico, with a thousand people moving like angels in unison.

Practicing this mediation always brings me much joy and peace, and I hope it brings this to you as well.
Many blessings, Adarsh Kaur

Celestial Communication at Santa Monica College

Sat Nam,

Yesterday I had a new experience - teaching at Santa Monica College. I was a guest teacher at Donna Quesada's Asian Philosophy class. I taught about Kundalini Yoga, Sikhism, and shared a little about my life's journey. And, we of course practiced Celestial Communication together!

The students were brave and jumped in with the new experience of Celestial Communication. So far in the semester, they have learned about Hinduism and Yoga. I filled them in on the practice of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and Sikhism, which is usually excluded from Asian Philosophy and Religion survey courses.

At right, we are doing a Celestial Communication to the Mool Mantra from Japji Sahib by Guru Nanak. We also Celestially Communicated to "I Am What I Am" by Aykanna, which I like to think of as a modern way of saying "Sat Nam".

The students asked brilliant questions, and I only wish that we had another hour together to thoroughly discuss them further!

At left, Professor Donna Quesada and I after class. Donna wrote a recent blog post about the benefits of mantra meditation, which I highly recommend. It is quite comprehensive.

Many of the effects of mantra meditation, as explained in this post, also apply to Celestial Communication. There are aspects, such as the effect of correct pronunciation and the tongue hitting the roof of the mouth, which don't apply, but all of the other effects do! Plus, with Celestial Communication you get to harmonize the body, mind and spirit, and you literally embody the mantra.

Many thanks to Donna for inviting me to share in her class, and for her enlightening article about mantra!

All blessings, Adarsh Kaur

Build Your Aura & Immune System

3/18/2011

Sat Nam!

In these tumultuous times - with natural disasters, political turmoil, environmental toxins and social change - it is important to keep your immune system, nervous system and aura strong. Most Kundalini Yoga kriyas focus on one or all three of these areas. Keeping a steady practice of healthy habits are more important than ever right now - whether you practice yoga and meditation, exercise, sitting still and listening, praying, sleeping well, sharing time and foods with friends, etc.

Celestial Communication is an easy way to keep your aura strong - the movements of the upper body build up the aura, the energy field around you which protects you from your environments, illness, harmful people and situations. A strong aura also helps to keep your sense of self and identity when their is rapid change and uncertainty around you. And, very importantly, keeps you from becoming overwhelmed. Celestial Communication also supports a healthy immune system when you really stretch your arms and activate the lymph system with your movements. Celestial Communications using vigorous movements are especially helpful to the immune system.

In response to the events in Japan and the issues of nuclear radiation, 3HO has shared a Meditation for Atomic Radiation. Yogi Bhajan said about this meditation, "If your inside is in turmoil, this meditation will prevent you from dying. It can be done anytime, and its effects will be to calm you, to energize you, and to relax you."

3HO has also shared nutritional information and baths to counter the effects of radiation. The truth is that most of us are affected by radiation all of the time. We are exposed to radiation with airplanes, x-rays and more. The good news is that there are simple foods to help; in addition to seaweed and miso, onions, garlic, carrots and beets help the body to handle and process radiation. Baths are another way to remove radiation and chemicals from the body. I have tried all of the baths that you can learn about in this link, and have found them very helpful to my overall health.

If you would like to try any of the meditations from the "Survival Kit" Yogi Bhajan gave, which is currently out of print, 3HO has also provided these as a pdf file. These include the meditations to prepare for an earthquake, to rebalance after an earthquake, and several more to handle challenging times. I am so grateful for these incredible meditations, and that Yogi Bhajan shared them with us for these times!

Prayers for peace and healing light to surround our mother earth and its people.

Many blessings to you all,
Adarsh Kaur

The 5 Elements of Celestial Communication

2/3/2011

One of the most common questions I hear about Celestial Communication is - what makes it Celestial Communication, and not dance, or something else? My answer to this question:

The five elements of Celestial Communication:

(1) Only the arms and upper body move. The navel point and lower chakras are stabilized. You can sit or stand, but only as long as the lower body does not move. Celestial Communication is working on the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th chakras, as well as the aura, and this is part of what makes it a "celestial" meditation.

(2) The movement is created to mantra or uplifting spiritual songs. The movement can be created by anyone, as long as it has the feeling of the song and the sound current in it. The goal is to embody the mantra/song and to use the body as an instrument to "sing" it.

(3) When practicing with another person or a group, there is one leader, and the other person(s) follows and mirrors the leader. So when the leader is moving her right arm, the follower is moving her or his left. Yogi Bhajan said that if you don't have anyone to practice Celestial Communication with, try doing it in a mirror with yourself, or even sitting in front of a tree to practice.

(4) Your eyes are open. This is an alert form of meditation; you remain aware of yourself, your movements, and the Celestial Communication leader/teacher.

(5) The Celestial Communication should move the fingertips, and move the hands and arms through the space around you. The movement of the fingertips through the air moves the prana, which stimulates the neurons in the brain for deep relaxation. The hand and arm movements through the air around you strengthens and brightens the aura. One common mistake I see is that there is not enough actual movement to produce these effects of Celestial Communication. When all of these elements are present, the Radiant Body is also strengthened.

These are the five elements of Celestial Communication. There is an infinite amount of creative potential using these five guidelines. You can sing if you like, or just let your body be the instrument. And, you can smile if you like!

If I missed anything in this list, or if you have any questions about the 5 elements of Celestial Communication, please comment here. I'd love to hear from you!

Sat Nam & blessings.

Addendum:

Later in the day...my friend Sirgun Kaur wrote - "If you think you can't sit still long enough to meditate, try this!". And, she is so right. Celestial Communication is for everyone! Young, old, men, women, all religions, ethnicities...everyone!
