About Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that uses breath and movement to align the chakras, energize the body, strengthen the immune system, and balance the glands. Classes use mantra, movement, meditation, music, and the sound of the gong to produce transformation and relaxation. Kundalini is the spiritual energy of awareness which is activated and channeled through yoga and meditation. Kundalini Yoga is taught in specific sequences of exercises (kriyas) that create optimum health and a heightened level of awareness. This form of yoga was first brought to the western world by Yogi Bhajan in 1969. For more information, visit 3ho.org or kriteachings.org.

About Celestial Communication

Celestial Communication is a moving meditation that is part of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  It is unique in that Yogi Bhajan did not specify exact mantras, mudras or movements to use for this type of meditation. Instead, a teacher or practitioner is free to create the movements using the guidelines of Celestial Communication.

The way it works is that you move your arms and hands, like a dance, to mantras or other divine songs. The movement is repetitive, coordinating with the mantra or lyrics; the movement is rhythmic and can be sharp or flowing. The focus is on the upper triangle, the 4th (heart), 5th (throat), 6th (third eye), 7th (crown), and 8th (aura) chakras. You do not move your lower body during Celestial Communication. The movement of the fingertips in the air increases your prana (energy), which connects with your neurons, and relieves the stress that accumulates deep in the brain. In this way, Celestial Communication uplifts you from depression, increases your radiance, and brings forth your natural creativity and prosperity.

It is important to breathe fully - with deep inhales and complete exhales through the nose - while practicing Celestial Communication. It is also important when practicing with more than one person, to mirror each other. If you are facing each other, one of you will be moving your left arm, when the other is moving the right. This is part of the technology of Celestial Communication. The eyes remain open during Celestial Communication, and you may either choose to sing along, or remain silent and let your movements do the singing.

Celestial Communication can be taught and practiced by everyone; and, it is a great way for beginners, children, seniors, and all types of people to meditate. It is one of the easiest forms of meditation to do, because you must engage the body. If the mind wanders, the body will be out of rhythm, and the focus must be brought back in order to continue. When practicing Celestial Communication, your body, mind and spirit are harmonized, healed and uplifted.

Yogi Bhajan

“Celestial Communication is the greatest wonder food for the body healing, bringing mental intelligence and creativity, and uplifting the soul and the inflow of the spirit.  It is a very simple, very authentic, most ancient and absolutely super modern way of making the dumbest, the dullest and the most boring person be very creative, productive, and absolutely intelligent.” - Yogi Bhajan
